The Mighty Mouse is a piano trio based in Copenhagen, Denmark. After years of studying and playing together at the Conservatory of Music and Communication in Esbjerg, the three musicans finally got down to serious business in the fall of 2006 and formed the trio that soon toured Germany and Denmark and in the spring of 2007 released a self-titled debut cd. Apart from having performed several concerts in Denmark and Germany the Mighty Mouse has composed and performed music for paintings by the French artist André Derain at a special exhibition at the National Museum of Arts in Copenhagen. The trio is furthermore involved with the painter Rick Towle in a project that involves improvised music and painting, mainly for kindergarten children. If there was ever any doubt about it, this project has proved that the enjoyment of abstract art is not for the select few but only a matter of openness of mind, a quality that children possess to a large degree up until they are corrupted by the conformity and biased opinions of adult society. The trio has for years provided the backbone of other projects, including a cooperation with the Norwegian Saxophone Colloseus Petter Wettre, Maria Faust Group and Pauliina Pohjolainen Quintet, touring Denmark, Norway, Germany, Finland and Estonia.
