"Stockholm-based DJ/producer Mikael Jonasson got his interest in music at an early age. After a few years of frenetic banging on the family kitchen ware, his parents didnt see any way out except buying him a toy drum-set. At the age of eleven, Mikael bought his own full size drum-set, and the definitive step into the life of music making was taken.
Joining various bands during his school years as a drummer didnt really do it for Mikael. And it wasnt until he got access to his fathers “well equipped” home studio the interest grew bigger to explore the digital world of music making. The days went on, trying to get the beats working with his fathers ATARI, TR-505 Roland drum-machine and several different Casio and Kawai synthesizers. A task which obviously wasnt easy.
One thing led to the other, and Mikael slowely started to build his own studio with instruments he heard were supposed to be good. Starting of with the TB-303 and TR-909 that he had been told was compulsory for making electronic dance-music, he went after almost any analogue synthesizer and drum-machine that had Roland or Korg written onto them. The sounds coming out of the studio was all experimental, and evolved slowely into banging house, techno and techhouse. Many productions to be released years later.
Mikael has previously dropped his tasty minimal, tech-house and techno treats on labels like Audiomatique, Definitive, Harthouse and Flat Belly. Meanwhile, Mikaels own imprint Koba Records, has earned support from leading electronic aficionados world wide such as Dave Clark, Umek and Velentino Kanzyani. With a stable stream of releases and remixes, Mikael is today a producer and DJ with a steady support from fans, radio-stations and DJs around the globe.”
