Mikael Karlsson Band started off in 2004 and has since then performed it´s brand of ”smooth jazz”, wheter it´s been jazzstandards, remade rockcovers or Mikael´s original compositions. The Band has kept a pretty stable working profile on stages in the region, like Slagthuset in Malmö, 2005, Tomarp s Kungsgård´, 2005 or the Jazzfestivals in Ängelholm and Helsingborg 2005. MKB has also been a regular sight on ”Jazz Saturdays” at Pub Telegrafen in Helsingborg since 2005. Recently there was a change on the drummer´s seat. The very talented Deodato Siquir, a mainstay on the worldmusic scene in Copenhagen has left the sticks to Per-Olof Borg, a skillful, wellrounded drummer who has worked with band on numerous occasions. Per-Olof has played with acclaimed bands as Tellus Y and Fun Club. He also drums behind gospelgroup Kefas.
