mikafika is Mika Tsubakino from Japan.
she's been trying to write songs and dreaming to start a band since she was quite small.
when she was small she liked re-write lyrics of songs she learned at school and record those songs on cassette tapes. (mostly about her pet animals)
when she turned 12 her mother bougt her a ukulele and she started learning it from books.
but it went slowly, but when she was 19 she found the forgotten ukulele in the wardrobe and wrote a goodbye song to her friend that was going home to canada. and the friend liked it so mika was proud and started to practice playing the ukulele for real. mika was in sweden the year before, and joined a gospel choir and her favorite song was a swedish hymn that was really beautiful, so she learned the chords from that song and played it on her ukulele and sang for herself. after that she started to look for tabs on the internet and started to sing belle and sebastian and velvet underground songs.
the year after that she moved back to sweden and started write some songs, sang with friends.(only a few songs)
after that she wrote songs little by little, and in autumn 2006 she started to record her own music at nights using a software program called garage band on her father's mac.
in 2007 she met a musician called bobcat and started to make music together and had a few shows in Nara, Kobe, and Osaka. The band is called ice cream shout and has a song recorded on their myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/icecreamshout)

Hej Mika, hoppas allt är bra med dig! Hur går det med de nya låtarna? Har ni några spelningar? Jag lyssnar ofta på dina två låtar. Vi har inte repat så mycket i sommar men nu är vi igång igen, och vi har en ny medlem som spelar trumpet. Ha det bra! /Johan
