About Mikal Blue NEW SONG!

I'm currently working on my solo project being produced by Curt Schneider (producer of Five For Fighting's "Two Lights,") and the CEO of Immergent Records (John Trickett).. Listen to some of my songs and let me know what you think. HERE IS A LITTLE BACKGROUND ON THE SONGS: Gold (As heard on ABC's "October Road") I think when you’re young you have certain expectations of how you're life is going to turn out. Gold is about the realization that even though your life may not be everything you had planned, you should never give up fighting for your dreams. Heaven (FREE Download; Make sure to share it with your friends.) Heaven is basically an idyllic relationship where everything is perfect. Obviouslyif you use the imagery of “heaven” then you are usually talking about the afterlife, but by adding the line “we never had to die” I feel that it puts a different twist on it. I love how the bridge turned out on “heaven” musically and lyrically. I wanted it to show that she knew what she was doing and it was a familiar place for her. Never Gonna Say Never Gonna Say is about a particularly rough breakup. It’s about finally opening up/coming out and saying how you really feel instead of hiding behind stock responses to every question. I like that it is a no b.s. end to a relationship and not trying to keep something alive when it is obviously over and not blaming anyone but myself. Pepper Pepper is written in the second and third person this time but if I analyze it, the words are once again aimed at myself. I don’t have to go too deeply into the meaning as I hope people will be able to relate to it in their own way. I ultimately do myself damage which will be my own downfall. I.) By age fourteen, I knew pretty much every lyric, chord, melody and harmony to every Beatles' song. My obsession with music inspired me to pursue a music career at an early age. By sixteen, I was playing the tough North East of England club circuit. My original band was recognized as the youngest band to make the final four of the televised "Band of the North" competition. II.) After graduating The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, I left England for a solo tour. After performing primarily in the Greek Islands and Austrian Alps, I decided to pursue a career in the United States. I eventually settled in Aspen, Colorado, forming a band that became the resident band at the infamous China Club. During this time, I signed my record deal with Alesis after winning first place in their nationwide song contest with my composition "Only One". III.) I eventually formed another band "Opium" and signed to A&M Records. After Seagram purchased A&M, our A&R was replaced. I then joined forces with "Porno for Pyros" Peter DiSteffano. Together we formed the band "15Mg" and signed yet another recording agreement with Immergent Records. Peter and I created yet another band, "My Enemy Death" with band mates Corby Jordan and Justin Knox. IV.) I am currently enjoying producing other artists and have gained tremendous experience from working with my very talented colleagues Curt Schneider (Five For Fighting) and Corky James (The Matrix Production Group). My love of collecting vintage musical instruments and recording gear grew into a recording studio called “Revolver Recordings” located just north of Los Angeles in Westlake Village, CA. I’ve worked with artists such as Five For Fighting, Augustana, OneRepublic, The Offspring, Gary Jules, Carrie Underwood, Brendan James, Angel Taylor, Kevin Hammond, Hope, Colbie Caillat, as well as a plethora of others.
