Welcome to Mike Space 8¬)... I'm a producer, mixer, writer and fan of a wide range of music. As long as it's got some soul, and guts, and commitment. For me the 'style' is secondary to the content, and intention....
I started out live sound engineering, mixing front-of-house - artists ranging from rock/jazz/big bands/funk/latin/techno/reggae- on world tours, to Notting Hill Carnival, to the Nice Jazz Festival. Dub mixing opened my eyes and ears.
I trained as a recording and mix engineer at Strongroom Studios in London. Mixing for artists including Underworld (5 albums)/ Jamiroquai/ Sunship/ Orson/ Natacha Atlas/ Sophie Solomon/ U2/ Howard Devoto/ Warrior Charge/ LadyFuzz/ Fatback Band/ Pete Heller/ Darren Emerson/ and Nick Cave, amongst others.
Also moved into production (starting with the first 2 Jamiroquai albums/ Smoke City/ Noel McKoy/ latest Tom Baxter), programming and writing.
Produced new KAL album Radio Romanista, Top 3 on the European World Music Charts, as well as their No.1 debut album- (tasty Roma music from Serbia/on the Asphalt-Tango label).
Formed electronic funk band LavaLava, played and recorded in England and home turf - New Zealand.
Have occasional project called The Hoops (check 'Marveloso' above), with Ceri Evans (aka Sunship). Other writing collaborations include music for Natacha Atlas (check "Just Like a Dream" above, and her myspace page), Noel McKoy, TV programs and ads.
Also working with surround sound, mixing for Underworld (Award winning DVD "EverythingEverything")/ Snow Patrol/ Feeder/ David Gray/ Rufus Wainright/ Buddy Guy/ Texas/ Santana). The tunes above are writes and co-writes.

Hey Mr Nielsen! We shot our video a couple of sundays ago. It went amazing!! I think you'll like it! Its gona take another 6 weeks or so to finish the backdrop animations...Will let you know when its done. We have got some 'krumping' going on! Simon
