It's been said before, there must be something in the water down in Texas. Blues musicians down here seem to spring from the very earth. There's a good reason for this. We have a proud tradition of blues thanks to the great ones that began it all. Musicians like Blind Lemon Jefferson, Robert Johnson, TBone Walker, Lightning Hopkins, Freddie King and recently Stevie Ray Vaughan all had ties to Texas. But that's not the end of the story. Today, cities like Dallas, Austin and Houston all have vibrant blues scenes where the next generation of great musicians learn the blues from the ones that carried the torch before them.
Mike and the Majestics were born from this very fertile ground. What began as an idea on a message board over ten years ago has become a lifetime devotion to roots music and the blues tradition. We've gone through several iterations while trying to find the right lineup that would produce music that would excite blues fans. And the latest incarnation of the band seems to be just the ticket. From the moment blues veteran Dempsey Crenshaw joined the band, people started taking notice. When Dempsey takes the stage, you hear 50 years of experience pour out of a blues man. And it really shows.
So if you love the blues and you like what you hear, we would love to invite you to join our mailing list and become an official Majestics Fan. All you have to do is give us your email address here and we'll take care of the rest:
