Having played the guitar as a teenager, Mike has always had a passion for music. Even before then, as a young child, he grew up listening to his mother's vinyl records; from Julio Iglesias to Bing Crosby, Bob Marley and Bertie Higgins, Mike's mother exposed him to a wide array of sounds, of which still influence him to this day...
Later on, Mike became increasingly consumed by electronic music. Introduced to the sounds of Radiohead, Sneaker Pimps and similar artists pushing for a more electronic/experimental sound, Mike also began dabbling with dance music. A few house parties and some time later, Beeds found himself DJing in Asia. It was during this time that he really developed as a DJ and further deepened his passion and drive to pursue music as more than just a "hobby."
Since that time, Mike Beeds has also taken a hand at producing, realizing the incredible feeling of playing out his own tracks. In fact, at his last show in the states, he got great response for "Calcutta." Only his 2nd track ever made, it has already been featured in DJ Mag's "Mix Doctor" segment, noted for its "lush melodies" and "movie-like" feel. Mike was also given the opportunity to remix part of Johan Söderqvist's moving score for "Let The Right One In."
2009 should prove to be another good year for Mr. Beeds. Back in Asia once again (this time, Shanghai), Mike remains busy behind the decks and pc, trying to share inspirational music with the world.
