| Band Members |                    Deep, innovative, technically sound and dance-floor minded. These are just a few words that describe a Mike Detloff set. Sets comprised of tech-house and techno elements with solid basslines that are thick with a groovy vibe. And although his choice of genres are among the more popular at the moment, Mike says that he’s not a fan of musical trends, but more of the music itself. "Yeah...I’ve been a fan of the minimalist approach to music for quite some time, but maybe that’s because I love "minimalism" in general. I like things that are simplified and not overdone. Most of the really great songs, regardless of genre, are really quite simple in composition." says Mike.
With technical skill and an ear for picking great tunes, Mike is sorting out a solid DJ career as well as getting adjusted to producing new sounds of his own. Additionally, Mike along with, friend and fellow DJ, Kean are forming the foundation for a new creative musical outlet, Technical Music. Their online show Technical Music Presents , which will feature mixes from a deep pool of international talent, is set to launch on Proton Radio as an ongoing monthly in the coming months. This duo has also been keeping a solid monthly club night, London Nights.
An avid music fan nearly all of his life, Mike’s musical tastes are deep and broad. ”I’m a fan of all types of music and sounds from Brazilian Raw beats to Acid house to Classic West Coast Jazz to Vintage East Coast Hip Hop.” says Mike. "I’m also really into finding and playing obscure stuff, whether it be a new cut or a classic b-side. Some favorite influences include a variety of artists from David Bowie to Massive Attack and Depeche Mode to Luciano. Clubs you can catch him at regularly.
