Michael Williams

About me:

I am 25 years old, and I'm in the US Marine Corps. I've been in the Marines for 7 years, and I've learned and seen alot. I spent my first 3 years in Jacksonville, NC stationed on MCAS New River. Next I went to Okinawa, Japan. While there, I had the opportunity to visit alot of countries. I've been to Thailand, South Korea, Australia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Barbados, and the Philippines. Now I'm in Yuma, Arizona. My career has been rewarding so far, and I'm sure it will continue to be. I enjoy my job and know that I've been blessed to be in the position I'm in. I'm from a small yet interesting city in North Carolina named Kinston. Interesting because its a small town with big city issues. After I graduated high school, I got out of there and I don't look back too often. Not that I don't have love for the "K" or the residents dwelling within its city limits, simply put I have seen the world and I now know what else is out there. Like Hov said, "When you get used to filet mignon, its hard to go back Hamburger Helper." I now call Winston-Salem, NC home. I'm a cool laid back type of person. I'm too young to let anything stress me out, especially if I can't control it. I'm too old to deal with immaturity, pettiness, and juvenile drama. I'm basically on my grown man. Honestly, I feel blessed. I'm a young black man, and while statistics where against me, I got out and made a life for myself and I have seen more things than many people older than me have. I've been to countries that many people can't find on the globe. That may mean nothing to you, but when you're from where I'm from, that is something to appreciate. I thank God for watching over me and blessing me, and I thank my Mama for raising me the way she did.
