Mikes music is influenced by many bands/artists as well as drawing influence from various styles of music including blues, pop, electronica, jazz, and rock.
Mike Esham is a talented singer/songwriter who relies on melody and emotion to construct unique, memorable, and emotionally charged songs. Loosely defined as modern acoustic rock, Mike blends elements of many different styles and influences to create his own approach to the traditional typecast of acoustic singer/songwriter. Mike Esham has played music for most of his life starting on piano when he was young and eventually moving to trumpet in his early teens. In the winter of 1999, while living in London playing trumpet in the Emmy and Tony award winning show blast!, Mike began to find a new musical outlet in the acoustic guitar. Soon after, Mike began writing his own songs, intimate and personal pieces about expectation, life, and love. Now Mike is pursuing this musical passion and expanding his musical voice by writing and performing original acoustic guitar music.

thanks man! that was my first recording attempt. now i have a bass and a little more experience and time. we'll see how it goes. so my band lost it's drummer and this sick jazz drummer dropped in my lap. we dropped the downtown owl name and now go by Damn Oprahs. I get bored easily. Call me later.
