Racing, racing, racing. It doesn't matter what, I love it. The Denny Hamlin commercial where he is bump drafting with the lawn mower...I did that years ago! I've been racing stock cars since '92. Tried Moto X but was never really good and my body can't take it anymore. I've also been a mechanic, tire changer, car chief, spotter and co-crew chief for teams in ASA, ARCA and the Craftsman Truck Series. Most if this was part time from '99 through '02. '00 and '01 was full time for an ASA team. Then in '03 I was an Inspector and Official for ASA. I almost moved to North Carolina in '01, but didn't. Who knows...maybe we'll still head down there!
About me: I have been married to Elizabeth for just over 5 years. She is a terrific person and I couldn't ask for anything more from her. She truly is my best friend. Our son, Michael Jr, is 5. He's my shadow and he keeps us on our toes. Let me tell you that all the times that my Mom said, "I hope you have a kid just like you," well, it worked! If his teenage years are anything like mine, I won't have any hair left. I'm very blessed to have Liz and the Little Duffer. I also have 5 step-children. Amber, Sara, Brianna, Caitlin and Jasik are from Liz's first marriage. Now that the older girls have moved out, we have started doing foster care again. We've got plenty of room and a lot to offer, so it only made sense to foster. We enjoy racing. The great thing about racing, no matter what type, is that the whole family can be involved.
