Hello from the Spruce Capital of BC. Long winters makes for lots of guitar playing and songwriting as I discovered when I moved north from my original home in South Burnaby outside Vancouver. Here in Prince George I fit music in with work and family. I've played for a long time ( concerts by Rory Gallagher and Lightning Hopkins killed my birdwatching hobby back in the mid 70's! ) but got passionate about it once I had the chance to play live: which happened here in the North, as we call it. Actually, a really bad golf game helped to refocus my energies on something I was good at. I've never smashed a guitar but I did stomp the head off a 6 iron on the 8th green of the PG Golf and Country Club. The guitar has never hooked or sliced for me.
Anyway, check out the songs posted here and send a message/request if you like. Got a new CD in the works, will keep you posted. Cheers, MF

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
