Mike Gould released his first music CD 'Its Not About Me' in '06. Mikes approach is eclectic as he gently reminds us of what we love about acoustic, jazz, country, folk, pop, and even a touch of gospel music.
This Austin based musician has attracted a diverse audience since he recorded with several top notch musicians. He had David Cleveland (band leader for Steven Curtis Chapman) on lead guitar, Mark Hill (band leader for Keith Urban) playing bass guitar, and Steve Brewster (has drummed on everyones CD from SCC to Faith Hill) playing drums to name a few.
Mike reels you in with gut level honesty during the opening track 'Mystery'. Mike describes being most drawn to 'Christians' that don't think they have it all figured out. Mike uniquely approaches the things of God and music.
The story of what Mike's been through and who he is becoming embraces you as you listen to the song Faith. Steve Brewster's use of a sloppy snare drum on this track has the potential to transport you back through time to sort of think back to a similar experience in your own life. Mikes voice has been compared to many, but it still stands out as entirely unique. Mikes slower songs, tracks 2, 5 and 10, will captivate you; you'll find yourself breathing more peacefully upon listening.

Just checking in... hope all is going well for you. I am currently in my last year of college and praying myself through! I am doing an internship at our Baptist Center here this summer which looks as though it's going to be turning into a year long thing with an over seas mission trip involved. (Germany i think and possibly italy too). Was just listening to your music and wanted to drop in and say hello and let you know what i was up to. Give the girls and guy a kiss for me. Yeah I was @ CFAW @ Liberity with Mel, Jacob, Moose and JOel hung out most of the weekend it was fun!
