    Mike Hastings is a singer/songwriter living in Boston's Somerville music epicenter where he can be found some sunny days in the sq. 'busking' with his acoustic guitar and some new song to push out into the world. With a strong root in drumming Mike does do some work as a drummer for the West African rock band Samba Lolo, this strong footing in rhythm also guides his development of original songs into dynamic groove orientated music. Mike's writing employs multiple rhythmic and harmonic layers which eventually called for a band of musicians with a background in world music and a keen sense for rhythmic dynamics. Mike has been doing shows around the Boston area with his band and with a growing repertoire of original acoustic based songs that are supported and lifted, sometimes with a devastating punch, by his ensemble of talented friends who he clearly admires. This comes across in his presentation of this monster band. A recording is in the works with a mid-summer release expected.
