Were here to have a good time!
That’s what were about’
And what our music is about’
And we want you to have a good time too..
We can do the love song thing’
But most folks go out to be energized and entertained..
And that’s what we aim to do’
Our music is raucous and upbeat'
Without being obnoxious loud’
Seems our style is best described as Rock’ Americana...
All we know is we enjoy playing and performing
So come on out and Join us for some fun'
Here ya can meet the boy's in thier own words..............................................................................
My name is Kevin R. Helton and I’m a Nefarious Clyde. I hale from the great state of Texas, born in San Antonio, resided in Austin (but I got to Oregon as quick as I could). I have been making music most of my natural life.
I’m quite partial to the drums though. Beatin out the time really does it for me.
My parents although not musicians themselves, always encouraged and helped me by financing my musical habits as a child. (Thanks Mom & Dad). More recently I crossed paths with Mike Helms, and it has been great fun working with him. Can’t wait to really “Get this Party Started”................................................................................
Hey I'm Neal Clark and I play lead guitar. Like Kevin I grew up in Texas and moved to Oregon just a few short years ago. I started playing guitar when I was 13 and haven't been able to shake the habit since. While I listen to many types of music (psychedelic, folk, metal, etc.) it was the sounds of the Texas blues that flooded my head and soaked my heart.
Fortunately it's a sound that fits like a glove over the soulful songs of Mike Helms.
...anyhow I love bein on stage hangin it out'
and I'm very Nefarious' leastwise I hack with an Axe'.......................................................................
HI I'm Frank Botti
I was born in Somerville New Jersey
I started playing guitar at @ 6 years old learning from my dad who was big into jazz, when I started rocking it really ticked him off.. I played guitar till about 96 when I was hanging with a band called ‘Third Wheel when this cutie lead singer with huge uhhhh aspirations asked me If I could play bass’ her uhhh persuasive talents could not be refusedcausing me to commit to the bass’ so I’ve been playing bass since, through several projects (Sector 7 G , The Roosters etc…), I’ve lived in several states including Texas, Colorado and Hawaii. I’m a working class Joe’ and I think I apply that attitude to the music allowing me to play a few different styles, and fit in well with the gig. I came to Portland in pursuit of a LOVE interest’ ;p and in a brief search found myself become a Nefarious Clyde’ not that I wasn’t before.............................
My name is Mike Helms..
Well I’m from the Midwest’ Kansas to be exact,
Although I’ve moved around quite a bit when I was younger,
And lived or spent some time in much of the western U S’
I was country'.. raised city'.. much of the time,
With roots in folk and rock both...
From Roger Miller to Led Zep’..
John Denver and Flat n Scruggs to CCR', Skynyrd and Floyd,
Throw in some C’W McCall with some Sabbath,
And you’ll get a pretty good idea why I’m so ^$&ed up..
I write from what’s fun to what I feel'
Always listened to music that the lyrics said something,
Whether it be funny or fantastic,
So that’s how I write...
I’ve been performing since I could baby puke and go Ta Dah’,
From campfires to Shakespeare on Stage’,
I was weaned on Coors’
Blessed by Medicine Men in the mountains’
And even kissed Aunt Lou’ whew’’!!.......

Any weekend and we are usually here.. doing nothing, but sometimes having friends over.. especially in the summer it's chill and we camp out down on the property, you didn't get to see that when you were here. Anyways, it was great seeing you again, Mike... I'm so glad we got to catch up, and ANYTIME you want to come up you are welcome (not saying we will play "STAG TAG").. haha, I'm just kidding, but really it was so great seeing you! Bring your guitar and teach me how to play "Dream on" again, it's been years! Oh and remember... It's up Cougar!!!!
Hey Mike!!! Did you have fun??? I felt bad that it wasn't like some full out party but you were cool and it was SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good to see you after all these years and talk and all that! You are wonderful (o: SO come up again soon, please? Any time you get bored (o: And now you know how to get here (follow Cougar) haha.. Love, El.
HEY Mike... Okay so I'm just going to throw this out there (o: I would LOVE if you came out and stayed with us tomorrow night (Saturday).. for my birthday??? *please* (I'm using the sweet face).. I'm sure you remember some other guys from the old 'neighborhood'.. the Kaiser brothers? Mike and Gary Kaiser? They are coming tomorrow night.. and then Kevin Anderko? He just got back from Wisconsin and he is going to come over too... so I think you should just come over and stay and visit us (o: It would make my... month? year?.... anyways, it's casual and I know Rob would love to see you too.. so if you want to either let me know and I will give you directions, or you can mapquest: 17420 Noakes Rd. Vernonia, OR 97064~ So just if you have nothing else going.. not like it's going to be a big slamming party or anything (just those guys), but well, I am getting too old for slamming parties anyways (too many candles on that cake..haha). Anyways, just if your bored and nothing is going on!
P.S.S~ I just thought of the time I was (around) 15 and I spent the night at your house and you taught me how to play Aerosmith "Dream on" on the guitar.. it is still the only song I know how to play!
Crap Mike... you are seriously like one of the few great guys left in this world.. you know that? I would LOVE to meet up.. I am only working Fridays. So tell me when and where and I will be there, as long as it is not too far from here..haha. I could really use a friend and you have always been that for me. SO.. give me a date and let's really meet up, not just say we are going to 'someday' okay? What is your schedule like? Oh and that would be a great birthday present for me , to get to see you after twenty years or so..... (O: Tell Pat I said "Hi" even when you piss him off waking him up! I'm the opposite, I am up all night and sleep all day, but I will get up early if it means getting to meet up with you!!!! Let me know okay?
Hey bro... Right on. I am stoked things are going good for ya. Things are much better for me now as well....If ya know what I mean? freedom baby!!! freedom!!! lol I don't know how I'm gonna pull it but I sure will try. As you know I am married and strapped down. lol So getting out once in a while, when I do, I hear shit for it for several days straight cause the wife hates punk music. I couldn't even pay her to cruise to a show with me. So here is what I'm thinkin. I have the Dropkick Murphy's and The Insurgence show on the 9th of Nov. Maybe if I invite the wife out to your show (she will probably taking a liking to your music), then she might let me go to my show with friends. lol See bro? being married is fucked up!! ya have to make plans and hope they work. lol Of course I don't want to take the wife anywhere with me though. She is very pregnant and very moody lately. Hey.... It's gonna be a boy bro. Well I am stoked ya stopped by to say whats up. I'm gonna try and make your show. Talk to ya soon.
