Lots of different types of music, too many particulars to list!!! I've been getting into Charles Ives lately, though. Other things: Steinway pianos, Sugar Bear (from Super Golden Crisp - his voice is KILLIN'!), Ping-pong, Hulk Hogan, Pasta, Mel Blanc's many voices, Things that are faster than a speeding bullet, Wonder Showzen <-- Incredible show, Female vocalists who like to count from one to four on iPod commercials, Billy Mays and his fine selection of cleaning products, and last but not least -- Quiet time to myself.

Born in 1980 in New Delhi , India , Mike Jellick is one of the most sought after pianists in the tri-state area. Beginning his classical training at just two years old, Mike draws from his influences of classical and jazz, and other more eclectic styles while performing his music. He is equally known for his writing, arranging, and teaching, all three of which are currently shown through numerous musical works being performed at various colleges and venues throughout Michigan and beyond. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree of Piano Performance from Eastern Michigan University, where upon finishing he spent a year directing their jazz combos.
Mike has won awards both locally and nationally including: Outstanding Soloist at the
Detroit International Jazz Festival (three times), several BMI nominations for jazz composition and arranging, as well as composition and performance awards from EMU and Wayne State . Also, Mr. Jellick has received critical acclaim from the Detroit News,
USA Today, as well as several radio stations including WEMU (89.1 FM). Mike has enjoyed playing at many venues not limited to but including: Orchestra Hall, The Blue Note (New York and Tokyo), The Copa (Tokyo), Nightown (Cleveland), Ortlie's Jazz Haus (Philadelphia), Andy's Jazz Club (Chicago), Bert’s Marketplace (Detroit), Baker’s Keyboard Lounge (Detroit), The Firefly (Ann Arbor), Hart Plaza, Lincoln Center (Manhattan, NY) with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, The Staples Center (Los Angeles), and the PCC Center For the Arts (Pima Community College in Tucson, AZ).
Mike Jellick currently resides in Royal Oak, Michigan and is attending Wayne State University pursuing a Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies accompanied by a teaching certificate. He performs and travels all over (and has recently played with the likes of Rodney Whitaker, Carl Allen, Wes Anderson, Sean Jones, Marcus Belgrave, Christian McBride, etc.) and is currently the musical director for the Jesse Palter Quartet which recently had it's debut at the Blue Note in New York, won various Detroit Music Awards and has been touring ever since.
In his spare time Mike enjoys the following things: Locating then eating the ever-elusive "McDonalds McScallops Happy Meal", trying blindly to avoid which color shirt B-Dub is wearing to the gig, whimically observing Milesy the gay cat strut his stuff (like his stuff don't stink), trying to to figure out what exactly are the subtle differences in the couture of Meijer versus that of Gucci, perfecting his sideshow routine by hap-hazzardly juggling mosquitoes in mid-air with oven mitts (practice makes perfect!!!), and finally... playing best-159-out-of-317 series of Connect Four with the elderly in random public parks.
