Born on June 15th 1981, Mike Kamp was exposed to music at a very young age. Thanks to his father (bought him a Casio synthesizer as a present) and his brother (one of the best known DJs in his hometown), Mike Kamp has been able to develop his interest as well as his talent in what has become a passion.
Mike slowly learned the art of the turntables by watching his older brother. During his high school, At the age of 15 he started running his own mobile parties, he also started collecting his first vinyl records (Altern8, Kevin Saunderson, KLF and so on). This experience opened up many doors for him, like his first radio show in which he began learning the radio DJ profession.
He always loved all kinds of music and was introduced to house music in 1997 after his brother bringing him influences and large amount of 12" from Italy. House music was something new, something fresh and different than anything he heard before. He loved it so much that he started to research information about DJs, producers, labels, and tried to know everything there was to know about the electronic music scene. His biggest inspiration at this time were artists such as Erick Morillo, Masters At Work, Ricky Montanari, Josh Wink, Danny Tenaglia, and Carl Cox to name a few..
By the year 1999, Mike was DJing in every major club at his hometown holding residencies and also having his own radio show. During that time, he started to gain attention from fans and gain respect from local DJs who in turn will invite him to play at their events. While being accepted and becoming a vital part of the local DJ scene, Mike started making friends and gain local recognition playing alongside some of the best known Greek DJs and artists at that time like Akylla, Dennis, Pascal and Feevos.
His initial sound was deep and soulful house but on 2001 after being for a year in Manchester, UK his roots changed and his sound from then on was a blend of tribal, tech, progressive and minimal house.
Aside from his achievements as a DJ, Mike is producing solo tracks under various nicknames; here you can preview some of his projects.
