Influenceshistorically - classic 60s/70s country like merle haggard, willie nelson, waylon jennings, old gospel hymns like i'll fly away, sweet by and by, the old rugged cross, 80s rock like the cure, REM, psychedelic furs, most recently i've been listening to wilco.. i love nels cline's guitar playing, and i've gotten turned onto the 70s punk band television. i dream to play guitar like tom verlaine and nels cline, but my fingers rebel.

   About Mike Kennedy
as a young child i watched alot of kookla fran & ollie. later it was gilligans island, hee-haw....star trek & the plenty scary movie. i like onions. i like salt. i like radios...old guitars and amps...odd machines. somewhere along the way i started playing the guitar and singing....i wanted to be glen campbell. i was always impressed by the song 'hang down your head, tom dooley' it made this poor boy want to cry. i also liked 'beware of a tall dark stranger' .. it sort of scared me.. buck owens was a super star. music layout powered by HOTFreeLayouts.com / MyHotComments

Okay, so why is it I start laughing about the time the organ starts to build in "Talk to Strangers". I like the song so I am not laughing at it. I think I picture the day you were putting it together in the garage and your family's shock. Okay, that must be it. I am laughing again.

I only heard about this mystical place. Never went to the Argyle place. Unless I don't remember it- which is entirely possible.

Happy holidays!

P. S. if you click on my pic - go to "view all my friends" then click on "Isaacs-Woodcock Project" - it should play "Sumthin to Drink" when it comes up. It's a little hack but of course all me, in a bedroom on a cake walk program, more to come, peace and love, J

Hey Moyk, good to hear from you man! I'm here in Bristow takin' care of my folks and lookin' for a teaching job (I went and got me a bachelors in History from OU a few years back) I still play and have had a few songs recorded available on my space. The latest is called "Sumthin to Drink". As soon as I figure out how to get to it I'll let ya know. I went to Barney's funeral back in February that was heavy and a trip in it's self. Been enjoyin the Rayn tribute site, especially that ancient track of "It leads to Dancing" wish there was more of it. Write me back, take care brother.
