Fisherman's Blues and Eve's In My Garden live at Matchless, Bklyn,NY. with Jeff Schram, video shot by Holly Danger ...... I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
Mike Milazzo blends folk, blues, rock and bluegrass
music into an original, yet familiar sound. With a
dark resonance in his voice, he sings with an honesty
that feels like home. There is an urgency in his lyrics
and guitar playing that translates into his live
performances, as well as, his new CD "The World Outside".
Mike has, in the past, lent his guitar
playing and singing talents to bands and singer
songwriters such as banjo master, Tom Hanway, "The
Juicemen" -heavy alt. rock, "The U.S. Hairforce"
-angular art rock, "Dweller"-rock and roll, "The
Boardlords" -skate punk to which he is still an active member, and "Meg Griffin's
Trainwreck" featuring pedal steel legend Buddy Cage.
Mike Milazzo has had the pleasure of being an opening
act for Donovan, Richie Havens, Levon Helm, and Vassar
Clements. Milazzo plays most of the instruments on
his new recording, "The World Outside" himself, with
the exception of drums played by Martin Stroh, and
guest appearances by Meg Griffin- backing vocals, Joe
Meo- clarinet, Stan Hammond- keyboards, and Robin
Gager on violin. The end result is a warm and
powerful collection of songs. Mike can be seen and
heard with his band Broken Arrow on Thursday evenings at The Sundown Saloon, in
Greenwich, Ct. also he can be seen solo every Tuesday at Penny's open mike at the under St.Marks theater in NYC and around the Tri-state area.
His new CD "The World Outside" is out now
on Mighty-Quinn records.Contact Mike Milazzo

your soul is often times a battlefield, upon which your reason and your judgement wage war against your passion and your appetite. Would that I could be the peacemaker in your soul, that I might turn the discord and the rivalry of your elements into oneness and melody. But how shall I unless you yourself be also the peacemaker the lover of all your elements?
Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your seafaring soul. If either the sails or your rudder be broken, you can but toss and drift, or else be held at standstill in mid seas. For reason, ruling alone, is a force confining: and passion, un attended, is a flame that burns to its own destruction. Therefore let your soul exalt your reason to the height of passion, that it may sing; And let it direct your passion with reason, that your passion may live through its own daily resurrection, and like that of the Phoenix rise above its own ashes. I would have you consider you judgment and your appetite even as you would two loved guests in your house. Surely you would not honor one guest above the other; for he who is more mindful of one loses the love and the faith of both.
Among the hills, when you sit in the cool shade of the white poplars, sharing the peace and serenity of distant fields and meadows then let your heart say in silence, "god rests in reason."
And when the storm comes, and the mighty wind shakes the forrest, and thunder and lightning proclaim the majesty of the sky, then let your heart say in awe, "god moves in passion."
And since you are a breath in Gods sphere and a leaf in Gods forrest you too should rest in reason and move in passion. ~kahlil gibran
