If not for the resource of public access cable television I never would have started on this path in the same unique, collaborative way. I truly would not be the person I am today without it. I have done bigger and different things in multimedia and communications, but it all began with access. As a resource and a sensibility, I always hold onto it in whatever I’m doing. Cable access is the best kept secret around.. Let ’em know! If you’re a fan of anything from me and mine, then show your support!

Give MIDATLANTIC (Formerly THE BLEEDIN BLEEDINS) a listen!
The song is "Shine" from the new album "The Longest Silence" out now! The video was created by myself and Lawrence Hollie. Watch for new Midatlantic video content - visit http://www.myspace.com/MidatlanticTheBand
Be sure to check back for exclusive videos we've shot with them! Don't be surprised if you see us taping at a Midatlantic show.
Classic, pure rock and old school hip-hop.
Movies
I play a "college student on their way to class" in MY BEST FRIEND’S GIRL (2008) , which stars DANE COOK and KATE HUDSON. Oh, yes - watch me walk behind them, crossing the street as they jog past me on Boston Common. In "the big kissing scene" I am on a bench in the park, sandwiched between two girls. During one take, Dane started goofing around and threw off his shoes (because, presumably "fuck shoes," right?) and flailed his way toward us, crashing right into us on the bench. "Betcha weren’t expecting THAT." he said. It’s those little moments you relish in, ya know? haha.
I play a dude on a phone who walks by CHRISTOPHER WALKEN, MORGAN FREEMAN, and WILLIAM H. MACY as they are hailing a cab outside The Boston Art Museum in THE LONELY MAIDEN (2008). I froze my face off, but I WALKed by WALKEN, so it rocked!

Hi! I'll be updating/revamping my page soon. For more updates, visit www.MikeOToole.NET , follow me on Twitter.com/MikeOToole and set your ears to MikeOCast.blogspot.com. Of course, you can also find me on Facebook.com/MikeOToole for regular stuff.
If you like, be my friend and stay for a bit. I like to show and tell. I like you. I like sex.
I am after expression to smother depression. If we're playing the label game, I am a multi-media artist. I do live performance stuff and dabble in TV and radio hosting, and I have done some acting here and there. Mainly I am a writer of both poetry and prose, which translate to my love of performing spoken word as an art form. My main gig is freelance videography and video editing. I'm also a talent manager/PR man for the one and only entertainer Quincy Brisco, and help organize and promote local alternative film events that showcase the community television and film projects I'm involved in. I call our gig "Experimentally ILL." My sense of humor fuels everything I do. I'm always juggling a few different projects, and if not, am pounding the pavement, waiting for the next gig.
I am revamping my so-called space when I have time. I didn't want this section to be too self-indulgent, but I realized the last version told you nothing, really.
If you've got a sense of humor and a little creativity, we're safe...
I am down with the art of spoken word and communication. Instead of picking up a guitar and doing the garage band thing, I picked up a camera and started working freelance in cable access television, pushing for collaborative media, and taking a punk, DIY approach to this art. I began this thing at the end of junior high, and since, have gotten some coin video editing and composing cool shots, like I would for free, and done different stuff on countless shoots, ranging from adrenaline rising stuff, to mind-numbingly awful. It's all been good in terms of paying the dues and getting a good workout. I have won a couple meaningless awards here and there. For real though, it's been great getting to meet and collaborate with different folks and help strengthen community and all that.
Through recent projects, I've met my favorite writer/director Kevin Smith, hung out at WBCN for the Toucher and Rich Show, taped the band Midatlantic on a show I digged in school -WAAF's Bay State Rock, helped craft a slew of music videos, worked a sold out Paradise Rock Club show, found my way into a few newspapers, hosted at the Coolidge Corner Theatre, and seen the back of my head in some movies.
I have been doing my time at MassBay Community College, rocking out as a Communications major for a beat. It's been a good time for the most part.
I dig live performance and the media industry. I'm very lazy, but I juggle doing video editing, writing (poetry and prose), and acting when there is a fire under me. I have been doing band videography as of late, and between that and ramping up on cable access and indie film projects, whether in front of, behind the scnes, or PR, I have ended up in some cool places, and met some cool people.
I love crafting wit and the written word. I'm on a quest for self-actualization, and enjoy having a few laughs and orgasms in between. If you can read, enlighten and entertain, I'll worship the ground you walk on, man... Other than that, it's about working out, and pushing it intellectually, while not losing sight of the simple stuff.
Insomnia may be my greatest muse...
I want to give improv comedy a real go 'round. I love good conversation and expression. I am trying speak up and stay connected to you more. If we correspond enough, throw me a line, or checkout my Twitter page and podcast to read and hear me. I am a creative introvert forcing myself to be extroverted. As Henry Rollins says, I am not an artist; I am a reaction to life. I chatted with him outside a show on November first of 2008. Booya.
More updates later.
Until then...
XmX
