MIKE PACHELLI started playing guitar at age 10 in his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio. He studied classical guitar at YSU and then moved to New York City to study bebop. Mike's guitar style is an amalgamation of jazz, rock, blues, and neo-classical. He has a wealth of musical experience gained thru years of night clubs, concert halls, and recording studios. He's gigged and/or studied with the most eclectic including organist Jack McDuff, guitar luminaries Joe Pass and Pat Martino, big band greats Les and Larry Elgart, and pianists Ferrante and Teicher among others. But Mike claims that what has given him the most musical clarity is his realization that the gift of music is a blessing from God.
In the 80's and 90's Mike hosted a TV show on the Warner Brothers affiliate for 10 years. He was seen with his group every Friday and Saturday nights in the Tampa/St. Petersburg/Orlando area and had a 14 million cumulative audience. In addition to playing with his group on the show and airing music videos, Mike got to interview and jam with his guests. Stars such as Paul McCartney, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Plant, Dennis Hopper and Jennifer Connelly graced the airwaves with Mike.
Pachelli has done countless recording sessions, composed music for films, done VO work for animated films with academy award winner Bill Plympton, appeared in a variety of indie movies, guest starred on TV shows, and recorded & composed the tracks for hundreds of commercial jingles.
Guitarists around the country are well aware of Pachelli's technical prowess and understanding of complex musical theories & harmonic juxtapositioning. Mike's book "Modal Mastery For Guitar Improvisation" is a must read for all serious students. Additionally, Pachelli's instructional DVD "Electric Guitar Method" includes a personal lesson for the serious student as well as the intermediate player. Mike is the recipient of many awards for his guitar expertise and five gold and platinum RIAA awards.
Mike Pachelli has released 10 Cd's as leader and played on a myriad of others. His latest is a free jazz fusion Cd that features Andrew W.K. on piano.
