Michael was a mainstay of the UKs jazz and gospel circuits for over fifteen years. “I took up the saxophone after listening to my heroes David Sanborn and Grover Washington Jr. I used to go and 'hang out' at jam sessions and played with some amazing musicians there and in the Church where I received most of my training together with playing alongside other more established singers and musicians at concerts and functions.” Michael subsequently went on to gain a BMus music degree at University of London Goldsmiths College and thereafter a PGCE post- graduate teaching certificate (Masters) at the University of Middlesex where he was nominated for the distinctive Arts Council Foundation award.
He has since performed and recorded with many top artists around the world, released his solo album project (Waiting On You) and continues to work as a session musician and producer from his own studio in the U.S. While residing in London, he performed at top venues such as Ronnie Scott's Jazz club, Jazz Café, café Royal, Hollywood Bowl and many other establishments both in the UK and internationally. Now living in Los Angeles, California, he has worked alongside Norman Brown- Grammy award winning guitarist, jazz fusion maestro- Jeff Lorber, and singing legend Peabo Bryson along with Ike Turner and the Kings of Rhythm (to name a few). Michael is a natural entertainer and entrepreneur who has developed a distinctive style and sound, winning him recognition throughout the music fraternity.
Michael currently hosts his own radio show on SOLAR RADIO. WWW.SOLARRADIO.COM both in the UK and Los Angeles Sundays 2-4pm PST and 10pm-12am GMT. Michael’s musical talents combined with his background in accountancy have made him a true all-rounder in the music industry.
