MIKE RENICK BAND STORY
Mike Renick Band hails from Cape Girardeau, MO, and was formed early in 2005.
Breaking onto the local music scene for the first time, singer-songwriter Mike Renick teamed up with various well-established local musicians to record his debut solo album Diamond Eyes in the spring of 2004. After enjoying several months of solo success, a regular lineup of players was established in the spring of 2005, and the Mike Renick Band had begun.
The group draws from the different musical backgrounds of each member, including jazz, blues, rock, and acoustic pop, to blend together a melodic, toe-tapping groove. Mike Renick, acoustic guitar and lead vocals, provides plenty of space in his original compositions for the soaring saxophone of Wes Grabel and creative electric guitar riffs of Blake Fisher. The rhythm section of Ken Keller on bass and Bryan West on drums forms a tight pulse that keeps the music moving, rocking, and funky.
In just a few short years, Mike Renick Band has amassed a large fan base in Southeast Missouri and St. Louis, and looks forward to sharing their music wherever it will be heard!
