Mike Salta, formerly known as Da Banker has been engaged as DJ, promotor and producer in the electronic scene since the early underground raves, in the late 80s and up through the 90s.
In his early childhood, a couple of old Bang & Olufsen turntables, an analog cassette recorder, a simple sampler and a homemade 2 channel mixer founded the interest that later became the fundament for a lifelong journey interpreted into music. DJ’ing was his drive, but the interest for engineering and creative music production merged his focus with his living into a blend of all kinds of musical influences from Club tools to atmospheric chillout.
In the mid eighties, Mike Salta started shaping his focus from DJ'ing to experimenting more with his own music. The sound of then was reflected by anything from Italo disco and boogie to early house flavours and later from the more progressive sides of house to techno. Apart from 20 years of worldwide DJ experience and dedication into music development and sound design. Buddhistic philosophy and studies of psychology with focus in intuition and culture, took him deeper into music, striving to explore each sense in each note, something that has developed a passion being realized through stresscoaching, utilizing the most beautiful aspects of music as a tool for soul, mind and body.
Reflections of life has been his inspiration to create music, and his personal interpretations of sound. An urge that has brought sought after skills as a Mastering Engineer and Audio restoration specialist with references spanning from BBC-History to Flexx records.
Both as a DJ and producer, a lot of cultural and musical reflections from Bossa, Jazz, Soul, Chillout, Phillysounds, Italo disco and boogie, etc. influence on his journeys and engagements into techy dirty soundscapes and rhythms. A lifestyle influenced by Buddhism, and his passion for native Chillout, tantra and meditation is reflected in any sound that emerge from his studio.
