Born in the Yukon. Raised in Alberta. Lived in Vancouver and now Toronto. All of these places are in Canada.
Mostly Mike Schlosser writes music and plays music and listens to music and loves music. He also sometimes listens to people and occasionally loves them. He also sometimes listens to or loves other things like animals and poetry and trees and oceans.
He has a degree in Sociology but doesn’t usually apply that to his music. Mostly his music is inspired by other music that he has liked. Examples of this are Bob Dylan, Faith No More, Iggy and the Stooges, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metric, Bloc Party, and many many many other things. His music is also inspired by other things that he finds inspiring. This could include friends, nature, and architecture but doesn't seem to be limited to these things.
Mike finds the most interesting aspects of music are change, growth, and experimentation. New things, new ways of doing old things, and old things that are new to him are all important as Mike strives to combine electronic and acoustic elements into a vast array of musical textures and pallets. He often says that this is his favorite thing to do although he usually says it so quietly that most people mistake it for simple breathing.
Mike writes and performs with Curtis Santiago and the duo have played many amazing venues in Canada, the US, and internationally including many festivals and showcases with other amazing bands. They have shared the stage with The Dudes, The Stars, Mickey Factz, Fucked Up, Raphael Saadiq, and a myriad of other inspiring performers. Mike and Curtis recently released the “Have Mercy Mixtape” with Mick Boogie and Gakcity.com.
Mike also supplies live guitars and rockstar poses for Anna Cyzon.
In his free time Mike likes to write music and produce other artists. In a way his free time is much like his work.
This is our singer Eric, all by himself - playing "Interstate Love Song" by Stone Temple Pilots. If you like it - be sure to share it with people - it's a fun acoustic version of the song! :) The code is at the end of the song!
