Johnny Cash once said that he had learned very well that there is no fence to sit on between heaven and hell. There is a deep, wide gulf, a chasm, and in that chasm is no place for any man.
In this place, I sit with my music, happy and sad, with love and loathing, it pumps my blood. I do not sing for others. I sing for me. Messeges sent through hooks and melody are nothing more than words. But in my songs, they are me. And in this place, I do not feel that I am better than anyone else. I simply feel that I am better than myself on most days. The ones that I love know this to be true.
Aren't biographies a load of pretentious bullshit?
