It doesn't get any more homegrown or deep-rooted than this. If you've been down Commercial Drive Way any time in the last 10 years or more, there's a good chance you've seen this guy bangin' out his tunes, usually in front of the liquor store. With affable charm and easy wit, Mike The Swan and his beat up guitar have finally seen the inside of a CD case. He's brought his songs and a few local friends to help him out and i couldn't be more impressed, both with the packaging and the music. The everyday themes of this lovely collection of 11 songs shows me that Mike believes in what he's singing about, and that's the neighborhood in which he lives and they people that are in it. Be it the steet strolloing drug addicted subject in "Jennifer's Tear" and the more than 1 reference to his son, these are real people and these are real stories made music by one of the most real dudes i know.

Yes, watch out for Joey Only. I heard he eats human souls just to frollick in their eternal misery.
Hey buddy, what's been up? I been working like crazy in the DTES the last week, about to go mountaineering and play some Stampede shows next week. Did a little tour earlier this month with this sick Australian band...life has been good man, keep in touch, you gotta come over and jam sometime when I am back! Cheers.joe
Hey man..how's life. Wanna jam sometime and hang out, next week maybe. Have you got many gigs coming up, I got a couple big ones and I need a stand-in stand-upright player bad. Does Tommy have an e-mail address? Keep in touch, I been working like crazy but it's simmering now...cheers. joey
Hey Mike, you looked up the lyrics to Metiorite Shower? Where? i'm curious! Well the song talks about how ruthlessly crul nature can be within the peace of it i guess, with the imagery of a missing body washed into a lake by a land slide as as the world around is like a sleeping beauty ... that kinda thing
I am everywhere, We are here, You are there in Ocean air, Broadway's LCBOs, Mountain Snows, A jaguar perched on a rocky top, Poised,to strike, Yet no blood is drawn, Only ass shaking grooves brooming back cosmic dust, Before we were rust, then we learn to trust, Then came the forces of combustible thrust, Yes we are many, and yet there a few So a message from Joey Sedan, from us to you, Still you may wonder, during rain and thunder, We all make mistakes and many a blunder, But soon you can find though musical adventures, That even with old age comes removable dentures, So take out your teeth, push through your grief, Grab some tobacco and go see the chief, Ask him your question and put the bundle in his hand, If he takes your offering maybe answers will understand, All in a sweet leaf Joey Sedan, he is relief.
