SOUNDS LIKE MIKE WILGAR AND THATS THE WAY I WANT TO KEEP IT
Playing blues harp from the tender age of nine Mike didn’t hit the stage until a guest appearance with local blues and folk legend Murray McDowell 2003 with in a week Mike was asked to make a guest appearance with Rab McCullough in the Belfast Empire music hall. Word soon spread throughout the Northern Ireland blues scene and Mike received several offers from various blues bands . He took on a few part time rolls with some of these bands Namely ” Legal Tender” and “Keep Err Lit” in order to gain stage experience, meanwhile Mike was invited by Murray McDowell to form a new band with him, Mike named the band “TEN FEET DEEP” with Murray on vocals and Mike on blues harp ,Ryan Ferris joined as lead guitarist and John Hammel on bass. A surprise addition to the line up was Keith Semple a multi talented individual who had achieved fame on the POP IDOL television show Keith was to take the roll as drummer and second vocalist although he can be heard playing guitar and keys on some of the bands studio recordings.
Mike also took up a part time roll with “The Rab McCullough Band” Rab had achieved success with a No 1 Album in the French blues charts and also in the USA were he won several awards and also had chart success with his albums. Mike still plays the with Rab when possible.
After “TEN FEET DEEP” members decided to go their separate ways Mike formed a band with a selection of talented musicians the drummer was Paul McCusker he named the band “THE FUN_DA_MENTALS” Mike brought guitarist Andy Finlay and vocalist Warren Boyd to their first band experience bass players can some times be hard to find so an add in the local paper soon brought a result Joe Mahwinie filled the roll perfectly.
The Fundamentals were a more funk orientated band and lasted for about a year when mike left to form the MIKE WILGAR BAND he wanted to concentrate on his own brand of blues and rock with hard driven blues harp and guitar.
AND THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT HE HAS DONE !.....................................................

Great music! Thanks for your friendship, and welcome aboard the Redline ship. Looking forward to sharing the journey ahead with you. Take Care, and thanks again. Peace,
Hello Mike. I remember you well. I threw you into the lions den unrehearsed with my show and you came out undamaged... brilliant job! We'll be in Ireland with the full band again in September, but I think we'll be in the southern part of the country for the most part. I may come over during the winter to do some acoustic shows. I'll keep you posted. Stay in touch Mike. All the best in Blues and life! -Big Daddy
Every time that we listen & write music... play an instrument... dance... act in a play... or work in some audio/image/video engineering process... something is healing inside...
When we share it with friends... something is healing all over...
Love can drive... in a simple way... everything
