   About Mike Witcher
Mike Witcher is a resonator guitarist who boasts a long list of credits both as a session player and as a sideman. A native Californian, Michael has performed with Laurie Lewis, Peter Rowan and Tony Rice, The Witcher Brothers, Missy Raines, Laurel Canyon Ramblers, Dolly Parton, Benmont Tench, Sean and Sara Watkins (of Nickel Creek), Jon Brion, Tyler Hilton and many others. Growing up in Los Angeles, Michael's playing reflects the diverse musical environment that has surrounded him. His playing offers a strong contemporary sensibility balanced with a deep respect for tradition. He can be heard on a wide range of recordings including such diverse artists as Dwight Yoakam, Fernando Ortega, Joan Osborn, and Todd Phillips. He has also recorded for Universal Studios Tours, CMH Records and The History Channel's "History's Mysteries." His playing was featured on the CBS Movie of the Week, "Papa's Angels." Michael has been teaching private lessons and workshops across the country for over ten years. His self-produced resonator guitar instructional book, "Resonator Guitar: Tunes, Techniques and Practice Skills", has gained world-wide acclaim from fellow slide players and students alike.

Mike,

Thanks for sending me that link... these tunes have such a nice groove! Hope to catch you guys again very soon in this part of the country. Next time I head out to see you all I'll bring you some of those live Punch Brothers recordings I mentioned before. Back to the point of this message, your playing on these cuts is amazing...it's a beautiful thing how everyone in the New Hip understands how their part fits into the bigger picture of the piece you're playing and it works incredibly well.

See you soon and thanks again,
-Kevin

Great to see you guys in Winston Mike. Hope to catch you the next time you all are around. You're an incredible player, loved Pootietang and your solos throughout the night, especially on Inside Out. I'll let you know as soon as I get a NYE recording in my hands. Hope you and yours are well.
