Move over Daddy Yankee there’s another Reggaeton Rapper heading to the States. He’s smokin’ and off the hook, he’s signed to 1830 Records LLC, and his name is Miki Bad Boy!
Miki Bad Boy was born “Filoteo Edjang Ndong” in Equatorial Guinea 22 years ago. He is the son of a member of that country’s diplomatic corp. At age 10 Miki moved
with his family to Camaroon, and inspired by artists like 2Pac, Will Smith and P. Diddy he began to write and rap his rhymes.
Miki traveled to Spain, the United States, to Cuba and eventually back to Equatorial Guinea where he presently resides. While in Spain, he met several Spanish rap artists and there he began to take his music and rap talents seriously.
In 1998 having moved to Havana, Miki Bad Boy met and joined a group of young people dedicated to Hip Hop. It was then that he entered the world of Reggaeton music.
Miki was familiar with the genre having been exposed to Puerto Rican artists like Vico C and El General from Panama.
In 2002, while on vacation in Tenerife, Spain, the bad boy met a German producer and owner of a record label called Channel 5 Tenerife. Upon hearing Miki Bad Boy’s music, the producer began working with him, but unfortunately when his vacation ended, Miki had to return to Cuba to continue his studies.
Miki Bad Boy joined several raps groups in Havana until 2003 when he and a friend founded a group they called Talla Extra (Extra Size), performing with Eddy K, and
El Medico. Talla Extra also performed on TV’s “El Expreso,” they were interviewed extensively on local radio stations and toured many different provinces.
The bad boy is fluent in Spanish, French and English but raps in Spanish, his native language.
In 2005, Miki received his degree in accounting and finance from the University of Havana. Soon thereafter, he was offered recording contracts from several European
Record companies.
Miki Bad Boy has an international following and performs in sold out concerts all over Cuba and Central and South America. He has recorded with platinum producers like , Michael Figuroa ( Extreme), Sixx John (Neyo), Daryl "Dogman" Young (Deathrow Records). His fans are worldwide and his songs can be heard on radios from Cuba to Paris, France. Currently, his DVD recorded live at a concert in his native Equatorial Guinea is a huge hit. He has also worked with International Korean superstar "Seven" and can be heard on Seven's upcoming album along with "Three 6 Mafia", Faboulus, and superstar producer Timberland.
In 2008 at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Spain Miki was awarded a Platinum plaque by the CEO of 1830 Records for selling 1 million ringtones of his first single "Pal Flete".
