BIO:
After the band Evidence disbanded in 2004 singer Mikko Heino decided to begin pursuing a solo career. His debut EP, entitled One Fine Day, was released in 2005 and through a minor deal the record caught some attention mainly in Finland but outside the borders as well. The record was produced by fellow musician Sami Viitalo.
Immediately after the release Heino began writing material for his next record, this time aiming for atmospheric, folk-influenced music. The record, entitled Moving Lines, was released in 2006 and received favorable reviews. It sold fairly well and the song ”Lost” was featured on the Acoustika Vol. 1 compilation in the USA.
Mikko promoted the record with a small tour and began writing new songs which would end up on his next release, Map3. He decided to release the album by himself and give out copies of it for free. A limited vinyl edition was also pressed and immediately sold to fans around the world. The entire record was released online in February 2008 and was supported with a tour.
In February 2010 Mikko will release his latest album, Vaahtera. The record features 9 titles out of which the songs ”Others” and ”B.I.L.” have been released as singles. The album is produced by Frameshift’s Henning Pauly who also played all the keyboard parts on the record. Pauly also played guitar parts for the song ”B.I.L.”. The album was recorded by Ilkka Olander.
