Miko Jackson is the creator and producer of the successful saga that begins with the first two volumes of Bossa n’ Stones, continues with Bossa n’ Marley and reaches its creative pinnacle with the latest installment Bossa n’ Roses and recently released Bossa n'Ramones. Musician, dj, arranger and producer, he has taken the worlds of both electronic and pop music by surprise as his albums have reached the top of the charts in a number of countries and have garnered numerous awards such as going gold and then platinum.
His electrobossa translation of the songbooks of a number of key artists such as The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Guns‘n’Roses and The Ramones are much more than just versions, reaching in to the essence of the composition, as can be seen in the rhythmic adaptation and harmonization found in tracks such as Paint It Black, Paradise City or Poison Heart.
A complete sound addict, he fills virtually 24 hours of his day with music, both in his creative work and his researching, listening to a wide range of styles and genres. He is not fond of the media limelight and states that “the only way to sell more than half a million discs and be able to walk down the street is by taking special care of my public image. I have had excellent luck with this so far, I found inspiration in the words of Johnny Rotten in the song Public Image, ‘Public Image belongs to me, its my entrance, my own creation…’
Today Miko directs the band that is presenting the Bossa discs live (taken from a selection of the best groups and artists that participated on the albums) and these days he is touring Latin America. For next year they will be landing in Europe again for a number of shows there.
During 2008, Miko worked on a series of tracks which, starting from the house, experiment with elements of deep, dubstep, chill, psychedelia and pop (House You being a very good example). Besides, he has just produced many new tracks (both original and version ones) for the double album (Bossa n..Remixes) which will be released in May 2009. The record presents some remixes made by the duet Jingo, and the collection includes tracks from the five albums which make up the Rio Series as well as a series of tracks not yet released.
In 2009, another electrobossa album, with original musical pieces, will also be released. At the end of 2009 or early 2010 there will be a new album with version tracks, although the name of the artist he is going to pay homage to is still undisclosed.
