"Mila Drumke immediately tweaks the music gods imbedded deep in your marrow. Drumke is a little-known but incredibly talented artist whom half of you wants to tell the world about so she can immediately capture fame, fortune and fans, while the other half conspires to keep a secret so you can share her with only your best and most music-loving friends."

The first question people often ask: What IS Mila Drumke?
Answer: It's a person.
Let's move on.
Question no. 2: What is the Mila Drumke BAND?
Answer:
The Mila Drumke Band is Mila Drumke, Lyris Hung and Elissa Linowes.
They have recorded four albums: Gathering My Name (1994), which features "Someone," the theme for the Samuel Goldwyn film Go Fish ("Someone" also appeared on the first Independent Film Channel release, In Your Ear, along with songs by Tom Waits and the Pogues among others); Illinois (1997), which features guest performances by Karen and Don Peris of the innocence mission; Hip to Hip: A Collection of Standards (2000); and, most recently, Radiate (2006), which also features guest performances from Karen and Don Peris and from Erik Della Penna of Kill Henry Sugar.
The band is from New York, where they have performed at venues including the Bowery Ballroom, Joe's Pub, the Mercury Lounge, Fez, The Living Room, The Bottom Line, Sin-e and Arlene Grocery. They have also performed at clubs and colleges around the U.S. and in Great Britain.

Thanks for the add. Hadn't heard of you before, though I've had a soft spot for The Innocence Mission for many years. All the best, and hoping you'll make it through the Twin Cities sometime. Cheers, Mike
I remember going crazy trying to find out who sang "that song" at the end of "Go Fish." And here you are! I really like the newer stuff, as well :) Great talent.
I saw Mila perform solo in York at the end of 2000 in the DeGrey rooms, and got her to sign her Illinois CD, which I keep next to my heart. I found her/you to be a most charming and sensitive young lady, and wish her/you all the best with your career(s). Please let me know if you are returning to the UK any time. Also, do you know how I can get one of your songs to play on my myspace profile, if you allow this?
Thanks Mila. I'm pleased to hear that you're still making music and I look forward to hearing what's new. I love your little musical vignettes and your cover of Under the Ivy
