Mila was born in Kiev, Ukraine, on September 22nd. She is professionally trained in both classical piano and voice. She has been writing poetry since she was seven, and songs—since she was thirteen. Her music is a combination of Russian, French, and other European influences. Growing up, Mila’s major influences were Russian Bards, especially, the legendary Vladimir Vistostky. Mila’s Russian songs written in this special "Russian Bard" style are full of exploring the very depths of the most sacred human emotions. She considers herself a singing poet, as her lyrics and poetry are truly profound, and they combine symbolism with beautiful, artful imagery. Mila’s current works are truly unique, as they combine both Russian and American-pop influences. Mila’s powerful vocals allow her to express the very essence of the emotional and intellectual intensity penetrating all of her works. Currently, she performs all over New York State, while working on two CDs, one of which (“My Voyage Back”) will consist of her early works as an authentic Russian Bard. While most of the songs on that CD were written by her before she turned 21, the songs’ truly philosophical meanings reflecting on timeless subjects have always resonated with mature audiences. Some of these songs, “I Will Never Kneel Before You,” "Song of Atonement" (Isound player--under the photo slide show), and "So What Does ’Never’ Truly Mean?" (Isound Player) can be heard on this website. Mila’s second CD (“Music in a Storm”) will mostly consist of her most recent works in English, written in a unique, gypsy-pop style. The song “I Want to Paint the Planet” is one of them, and it is also can be heard on this site (Myspace Player).
