------------------------------------Mild orphic--------------------------------------------
Canadian alternative rock group, Mild Orphic has a long history in regards to how they were formed. Back in 2003, Jean Landry and Charles Routhier met through a common friend. They knew almost immediately that they connected when it came to their passion for music. Charles loved playing the guitar but didn’t take it seriously until 12 years after that first meet. They’ve also filled the positions of bass and drummer a few times since 2005.
Their first live show was at the Emerging Music Festival in Rouyn-Noranda in September, 2006. They also started recording in Switzerland and did a live show at the White Horse in Montreux and also at Chaux-de-Fonds for the Canadian Ambassador.
Today, band members include, Jean Landry and Charles Routhier along with Yves Mercier (bass/guitar/keyboard) and Christian Leclerc (drummer). In 2007 they entered Studio Lagaces (owned by bass player Yves) and emerged in May, 2008. The regional production was complete and final prints of the CD cover were completed at Ville St-Laurent, along with all other aspects of production.
Mild Orphic officially were launched at the Resto Pub O’Toole in Rouyn-Noranda on June 11, 2008. In Autumn of that same year, bass player Pat Picard became their newest member of the group.
Mild Orphic’s new single, “Sphere”, is off of their new self-titled CD. The theme of the song is bad timing – inappropriate for a loving relationship. The theme of the entire CD is about facts of life.
Mild Orphic has great, catchy tunes. Their lyrics and harmonies are beautifully performed. One thing that I love about this group is their specific style of rock. To me, it is easy listening/alternative rock. Everything out of this group is wonderful to listen to. They are very creative in their technique and are very specific in how they are heard.
This new CD has been released physically and digitally.

MILD ORPHIC – THE BIO

..
It was in the spring of 2003, when Jean Landry and Charles Routhier met through a common friend, it was eminent from the beginning that their love and passion for music was in unison. Their music and poetic talent allowed lyrics to emerge. It was the required recipe for a dozen songs to see the light of day. Two years later (Summer 2005), they proceeded in the hiring of two additional musicians: Richard Tousignant (at bass) and Christian Dion (on drums). Their first live show was part of the Emerging music Festival in Rouyn-Noranda on September 2nd 2006. In late September 2007, all partnerships and financial arrangements were in place with les Productions Nordaccord for the production of the Mild Orphic soundtrack. In December 2007, two new musicians joined the group, Yves Mercier (at bass, guitar and keyboard) and the drummer Christian « Furott » Leclerc. The recording at Studio Sagaces took its debut in December 2007 and lasted until May 2008. The new rock band Mild Orphic were officially launched on June the 11th 2008. In autumn 2008, Pat Picard started practicing bass with a broken thumb and since then, he's the last new member in the band.

"Mild orphic is one of the most unique and dynamic bands I've had the chance to work with. It's atmospheric, dynamic, refreshing, and I can't wait to see where it goes."Josh Weekley A&R Select

Music Comments: Mild Orphic’s sound is a combination of some of the offshoot bands whose music has became cult: Radiohead, Phish, etc. Its off the beaten path charm is melodic and at times furiously melodic. The opening track, “Anybody” has a totally hypnotic guitar groove from first note to last, awesome. The fourth track, “Rhythm” is a contemplative mellow groove; as are “Pray” and the disc’s best track, “Bro”, full of sorrow and sadness, all backed by a wispy six string track and super mellow lead guitar riff. We’ll want to look into the options of (1) licensing for indie film and television – and – even video games, (2) ramping up mp3 sales, and (3) creating promotional items such as a press release and electronic press kit (EPK) for mass levels of exposure. We look forward to more where this killer stuff, sound engineered by Yves Mercier, came from.
