Mile End are a band formed from the necessity to hear something that did not exist, to hear music that could redefine the landscape, to change the world one convert at a time.
Hailing from Perth, Western Australia and forming in early 2001, they began to write songs immediately, creating a bond between all four members as both
friends and artists. In late 2005, Mile End began to play sporadic gigs around Perth creating a buzz and slowly building up their fan base.
2007 has seen mile end take another step forward to become one of Perth must see acts. Gaining notable airplay on RTRfm and praise from around the local music scene, they continue to grow.
Supporting Batrider, Schvendes and Witch Hats, Mile End have further expanded their supporter group and with the release of a limited edition four track sampler have held on to those fans.
Sounding like the bastard child of The John Spencer Blues Explosion and Tom Waits transplanted at birth from the deep-south and reared on the beaches of an Australian summer.
They will become your new favourite band, they will become what you talk about to your friends, ‘they will play and suck your soul’

First off, committed Perth punk icons Mile End delivered their much-respected interpretation of filthy garage. Driven by solid percussion and a drummer who seemed to know his kit inside out, the experienced band thrashed in perfect timing. Meanwhile, their singer moaned each word like a writhing drunkard, and could have just as easily been yelping “I feel fine!’ with The Stooges in 1970. With a clear rockabilly edge, their front man maintained Mile End’s swampy element by clingy to his wammy bar. This is a seasoned garage band, which proves their loyal supporters –including punk veteran James Baker- are well deserved. 'Drum Media, July 2007'
'Really like the 50's rockabilly sound to this band - woo hoo rockin hook/chorus too' x 'Rosie Beaton, Triple J'
