   About Miles Thompson
Miles Thompson is a songwriter and guitarist whose songs blend elements of folk, country, rock and blues while exploring contemporary themes. His melodic style of guitar playing and his expressive baritone voice have earned him fans throughout the Philadelphia region. His song, "The Mermaid's Violin", recorded by the Schonwalds, received airplay on folk music radio programs in the United States, Canada and Australia. In 2006, and 2007, he was a winner of the Xtreme Folk Scene annual songwriting contest for "Water's Gonna Rise" and "Walls". Most recently, Miles has been performing with musicians Ray Duffy and Frank Burk, to positive critical acclaim.

Miles--

Your kind words mean a lot to me.

Gene Shay was supportive and very easy to work with. He seemed impressed, though he is hard to read.

I'm guessing that it sounded better in the room than it did on the air. Someone made a recording for me off the Internet and the mix is pretty bad. The songs themselves, however, came through loud and clear.

Over all, a very good night, what with the Phillies great win on top of the show.

See you soon (Thursday night, perhaps?),

hey unc,
Rents came and visited, the state radio CD's did not get mailed to you before i left, but they will be enroute once mom and dad are back home. with luck that means they'll get there before Xmas. Dad left me a guitar and told me to self-teach, so here i sit, summer of 69 style with fingers bleeding.

well not quite that hardcore. but trying nonetheless. Hope all is well stateside. and if you-know-who wins, ill expatriate to Sweden and you can all come visit/escape.

take care and say hi to the girls for me.
