Thanks for dialing. My name is Brian and I've been recording as Milieu since May 2004. Since then I've amassed several dozen releases on labels such as U-Cover, Infraction, Awkward Silence, Boltfish, Attacknine, Benbecula and many others, which I will use to build a ziggurat. I'm involved in a number of collaborations, including Free Festival with Brian Ellis and my drone band VCV with David Tagg. As if all that doesn't keep me busy enough, I run three small boutique labels (Expanding Electronic Diversity / Second Sun Recordings / Install) with David, in addition to maintaining my own imprint, Milieu Music.
I have a few other monikers for different types of musical output as well, including Coppice Halifax for deep textural electronics and my birthname for guitar-based works. I do remixes when I have the time, so if you'd like me to do a remix, please make sure your request will comply with these conditions. I'm currently seeking labels that are interested in pressing Milieu to vinyl, as well as anyone interested in re-releasing some of the out-of-print Milieu back-catalog. Interested parties should simply get in touch.
Most recently, I have recorded music and sound for the Seumas McNally nominated game Dyson (which will be available on Valve's download service Steam by the end of summer) and I've just released my first vinyl record with David Tagg for our minimal dub-techno project SEAS. Kirk out.
Hello Brian. About your 20 works had reached the house before January. Your music becomes my good friend regardless of time during the night between the morning and commuting hours and exists since then. Hereafter, it will not change. Thank you for work that it is possible to trust it.
hey brian. long time no speak. just wanted to give you the heads-up. i'm starting school in cola this fall. we'll have to regain contact at some point!
Brian, this is some awesome stuff. I can tell you put a lot of time and attention into it. Really enjoyable. Thanks for the add and for supporting another local artist. Greatly appreciated. If you haven’t yet heard “Fingertips,” drop by and if you like the sound, tell a friend and share the love. Thanks again - Trevor
