I am a army wife, a mother and an artist. And I am currently hosting a photo contest.
I am doing a series of paintings/portraits of the dreaded deployment departures and the happy homecomings. I am trying to capture and express the emotions and sacrifice military families endure as a part of everyday life.
You know the famous photo of the nurse and the sailor? Well, that is a gyst of what I am aiming for, only I want it to be an actual couple, in modern day times. It doesn't have to be the same pose, or anything like that. What I would like is a clear, clean, crisp image of you and your soldier, and even your family at a departure or a homecoming.
