About me:
Hey everyone! So- yes the cookbook project is underway for better or worse.
The cookbook started out in Philly. I was on my way home from Wisconsin and my flight was delayed for six hours-yes. I could have walked home. So- I went shopping, then of course to the beverage center. There was a soldier on his way back to Afghanistan and we started chatting about food. When they find out you are a chef-it immediately turns to food. Lucky for me-it's my passion. His name is Joe Serna and he's from Cali. I really wanted his Grandmother's recipes so I asked him to send it, with his picture. He did with a little story of why it's so special to him. The more I thought about it and talked to my sister- the idea was born-collect them from all the military guys & gals-put them in a book.
It will share family recipes and funny stories. I think it's going to be so cool once it picks up some steam. Some of the stories I have read so far are very cool. The pictures-amazing.
What I need:
A recipe of what they missed.
A story of why it's so special or other family story.
A picture of their smiling face!
