> Tex La Homa - Apport EP
[MILKMOON04]
One of England’s most acclaimed indie-folk acts offers Milk & moon recordings one of his most heartbreaking collection of songs – as always with Tex La Homa, the songs are beautifully crafted and developed with an almost painful sincerity but now bear a new sense of introspective rage and a desperate, teeth-gritting intensity as well. ”And as the years pass by, you take another wife...”
UK based singer / composer / producer Matt Shaw has released several beautifully received albums and EPs under the name Tex La Homa on prestigious labels such as Talitres or Acuarela. His current projects involve new Tex La Homa recordings and live dates, also an EP is due for release in Japan by Knurb, a collaboration with Masayuki Miyoshi. Matt is also working on recordings for Mind Expansion records in Detroit USA and has recently completed a track for release on 7” vinyl for the Paris based Astro Lab label. Additionnally, he plays in the project 230 Divisadero with Nick Grey.
+ “...Reeking of tuneful gloom” - The Times (London)
+ “A gentleman with a firm grasp of the importance of stillness and silence in music. His beats roll in like sleepwalking tapdancers, his basslines are corpulent and cavernous and he has less a vocal style and more a bedside manner where he half- whispers at you.” - NME
+ “Matt has crafted an excellent style and has really hit the right spots” – BBC / collective magazine
+ “Simply beautiful” – Drowned in Sound

> 230 Divisadero - A Vision of Lost Unity EP
[MILKMOON03]
230 Divisadero is a new project by Matt Shaw (Tex La Homa) and Nick Grey (48 Cameras), songs and music written and recorded between England and Canada. The music of 230 Divisadero conveys a deep end-of-the-world / lost-at-sea feeling, a sense of sadness yet (perhaps unfulfilled) hope triggered by misty soundscapes, torpid arrangements and psychedelic electronics.
230 Divisadero's first ep, A Vision Of Lost Unity is planned for release on Milk & moon recordings soon, and features the extra participation of Canadian cellist David Widmer. The ep features natural and electronic sounds and atmospheres that can bring to mind the drone music of Sunn O))) or the electronic pulses you might find in a track by coil, two amongst many, many different influences. Additionally, Matt and Nick are currently working on a full-length release, to be expected late 2006.
