This is a new exciting band. You are going to dig what Milk is about. They have a load of songs that are pretty cool. The songs "Fly" and "Monochrome" are probably the best. I would like to see these guys live. I hear that they are from LA, but they recorded part of this about in Liverpool. Psychedelic Rock is still alive with bands like Milk. This band is worthy. This has a very 70’s rock flavor, with some fast paced great guitar licks and a cracking driving beats, offset by some tracks of almost power ballad proportions. “Monochrome” is a power ballad in the making. I can just imagine seeing the band live and hearing the audience sing along. The album rounds off with the truly beautiful “Give Me Some”, with its almost ethnic feel. When I heard the beginning of "Fly" I thought, "Oh, this is a hard rock/metal band.", then the rest of the song kicks in and I think... woah... trippy. I immediately realized this wasn't a metal band at all. This is a unique sounding rock band. The wah sounding guitar effect mixed with the extra reverb in the vocals makes you feel a little dizzy... a little out there. This is just a really cool sounding track that is perfect for any occasion. This is great party music, great cleaning music, great alone music... and it has a cool 60s/70s feel to it as well, which is always a good thing. right? right! The way this band mixes a pop/rock alternative feel with psychedelic is pretty cool, it's rocking, yet relaxing at the same time... I don't know how they do it, but they do it! I'd definitely invest in this band's music. Plus, I really like their website... it's always helpful to visit a well laid out band site. This band is the real deal.
Although I'm not featuring it here, I would have to say my favorite Milk song so far is "Give Me Some". This song can be heard at their myspace page and it's one of the more psychedelic pieces. Is that a Sitar? Forgive me if I'm not getting the instrument correct. Anyway, this song was something that I was not expecting, then it just suddenly came on, surprised me and drug me in... The Sitar sound mixed with the other interesting sound effects all building up to a rocking ending, make this an amazing tune. The IndieShows Blog
