Milk White White Teeth is the combined efforts of eight people living in Leeds, who have been playing together as a whole since December 2008. Jon & Barrie met at school in Leicestershire when they were 14. Upon moving to Yorkshire they set about accumulating the right musicians to take their multitude of bedroom recordings in to the real world.
They live in pairs and commune every few days to play in the cellar where they rehearse. The Teeth have been recorded beautifully by the ever lovely Lee Smith & Jamie Lockhart of Mi Mye at their Green Mount studio in Armley, Leeds.
We recently played both Leeds and Reading Festival 2009 and had a rather good time and enjoyed some praise from a few people including God Is In The TV...
"They're a collection of sickeningly talented musicians in fields as varied as cornet and mandolin, melodica and synth, and they harness heavenly harmonies and tracks which offer uncharted adventures, rarely subsiding before the 7 minute mark. Pesky kids. Comparisons to the Arcade Fire would be lazy, however if they'd recorded Neon Bible in, say, Bermuda, you'd get an impression as to what to expect here."
Was hoping we were playing Leeds/Reading on the same days, but it seems not, so i'll be sure to catch you in Leeds some time soon..... i like your stuff
