BIOGRAPHY of MILLI CHAB
Milli Chab’s first encounter with Jamaican culture – thanks to the personal impact of prof. Menelik, selekta Yaman, DJ Bosi and Zilio – made a huge impression on him. So he followed the work of contemporary Jamaican performers, and in 2005 he grabbed a pen and a microphone: to write up-to-date lyrics to the latest Jamaican tunes and become the number one dancehall performer of his mother country, Hungary. He’s determined to substantiate here a genuine dancehall culture, built upon authentic mood, language and message.
During his career as a performer he soon got to know recognized bands of the Hungarian reggae scene, such as Ladánybene 27, Riddim Colony or the Kingston Cruisers. He didn’t just make their acquaintance; he also had the chance to work together with these artists, which brought him the professional acknowledgement.
He contributes to different albums, he is a guest performer on many reggae events and he gets requests from abroad, too. Besides this a lot of tracks and live performances prove that he’s well known in the Hungarian hip-hop scene, and he also plays a part in the project ’Szegeden Szabadon’.
Milli Chab’s live acts are backed by the Hungarian riddim band, Budapest Riddim and he’s the member of the Kool Runningz Crew – an unstoppable sound system from Szeged.

Milli Chab első komolyabb találkozása a jamaikai kultúrával,
köszönhetően többek közt prof. Menelik, Selekta Yaman, DJ Bosi és Zilio
személyes behatásának, annak életre szólóan rabjává tette. Egyre inkább
figyelte a kortárs jamaikai előadókat, 2005-ben tollat ragadott és
Magyarországon elsőként up-to-date szövegeket kezdett tolni újabbnál-
újabb jamaikai zenékre. Céljául tűzte ki, hogy hazájának, Magyarországnak
első és elsőszámú igazi dancehall előadója lesz és megalapozza
országában is a hiteles, eredeti hangulatra, nyelvre és mondanivalóra
épülő dancehall kultúrát. Hamar megismerkedett számos, a magyar reggae
életben igen elismert zenésszel, zenekarral, mint a Ladánybene 27,
a Riddim Colony, vagy a Kingston Cruisers, akikkel idővel lehetősége
is adatott együtt dolgozni, ez a szakma teljeskörű elismerését hozta
magával, több lemezen közreműködik, rendszeresen vendégeskedik reggae
rendezvényeken, és egyre többet keresik határon túlról is. Emellett jó
kapcsolatot ápol a hazai hip-hop szféra előadóival is, melyet szintén
számos felvétel és közös fellépés fémjelez, valamint része a Szegeden
Szabadon projektnek. Milli Chab fellépéseit A magyar riddimband, a Budapest Riddim kíséri, sound system-e a szegedi székhelyű Kool Runningz Crew.
