R-A Mixing & Mastering is a professional mixing and mastering studio that is for the musician on a budget but with professional and industry standard services. R-A Mixing & Mastering is located in Ortonville, Michigan. It is owned and operated by Ryan Adkins. Which was the owner of South Central Kentucky’s number one studio “BG ChopHouse Studio”, which he owned for the last four years.

Ryan Adkins has been recording and mixing music since 1995 and has been mixing on professional recording consoles since 2002. Since 2002 he has mixed projects for labels such as Atlantic Records, Jive, Sony and EMI. He is also a graduate of the S.A.E. Institute of Technology out of Nashville, TN for audio engineering where he graduated just shy of a perfect grade point average earning respect from his peers and professors. While at S.A.E he studied under professors with mixing credits from some of the industries top artists. Artists such as; Tim McGraw, Hank Williams Jr, Willie Nelson, Sarah Evans, Faith Hill, Shania Twain and Waylon Jennings. He has recorded on consoles ranging from Yamaha O1V to SSL, Neve and Tritons. He was tested and certified by Mackie (the company that manufactured the console he uses).

In the last four years he has worked with over 1,000 acts from fourteen different states and five different countries. His mixes have been heard in many televised programs. Programs ranging from HBO’s smash hit “Entourage”, “Sons of Anarchy” on FX, programs on the History Channel and A & E and also many independent films. In 2007 two of the regional bands he worked with went on to sign record contracts. In 2008 three regional bands he worked with went on to sign record contracts and three other bands had their songs featured in movie sound tracks. So far in 2009 five of the regional bands he has worked with have signed record contracts.

R-A Mixing & Mastering specializes in all types of music. We do not discriminate against any type of music. It does not matter if it’s rap, pop, rock, blue grass etc. We offer some of the best rates you will find in the area. We offer song and project rates verses hourly rates. All our rates include both mixing and mastering.
