Jon Langford: With the mighty uke all things are possible.

"Proud to be a Strumma for Obama. I'm going to be in Australia on election day so I've already voted - for Obama. Walking into a courthouse in Nashville and voting for an African American, I tell you, it was sweet." --Steve Earl
"The Million Uke March" (Key of F)
(Sylvie Simmons)
Raise your ukes for Obama
Pluck 'em for the USA
And while you are strumming
A new day is coming
To wash the Republi-cons away
We all know McCain ain't Mc Able
To organise a party in a bar
If you want your country back
You gotta vote for Barack
Obama for America
Yes you and your mama
Go and vote for Obama
Obama for America!
It depends which photo you were looking at there are a few ukulele idol ones you should perhaps not look at -.ahem. This thing may have err…. legs. I think on the 21st of this month there is an attempt to brake a record for the most amount of ukuleles played in one day. Records are there to be broken!! It is important that near the UK election people will mobilise themselves against this shower. So that gives us at least a year to do some planning plan for a record breaking protest. How the small uke can sound mighty in numbers is an excellent metaphor for voting. Today the British legion have published a letter asking the leader of the BNP to stop wearing the poppy in public. That’s how low they are stooping trying to find credibility by corrupting the familiar and perhaps the sacred.
Hey we arrived to late to help you but you did not need us. Over in the UK we are having some issues with Facist being elected to the European Parliament. So if your up for a four strings against fascists movement, let's get it started. Pete
I can't vote either, being a Canuck an' all, but perhaps through sheer will power we can help him get in. All together now.... CONCENTRATE!!! Gotta beat those haters (my 74-year-old boss said he's never seen an election like this in his lifetime, where all the rational people are on one side and all the haters are on the other. Ugh.).
