Terningkast 5 i Drammens Tidende!
"Høyt på Skalaen"
Millpond Moon is a singer-songwriter duo from Bergen, Norway, involving Rune Hauge and Kjersti Misje.
The press writes:
"It was as if Loudon Wainwright III and one of the McGarrigle sisters had met up at Buddy that night.
This was American singer/ songwriter and folk/roots tradition of a standard which is rarely produced by artists with a Norwegian passport".
"Their vocal interplay and guitar playing was so effortless, classy and energetic that the posters’ promise of "superb listening " was fulfilled many times over. However, the sparkle they brought to their jamming, and their ability to play off the cuff, bear witness of a standard which is far from ordinary fare in this country".
"Millpond Moon is known to be a great live-act. Acoustic and transparent, yet close and gratifying, and with two voices and two guitars in perfect harmony".
Bio:
Rune Hauge released his first album (The One You Need) in 1995. It earned him critical acclaim from all over Norway, and in 1999, "Taxi" was released as a strong follow-up album. Both releases shows that Rune Hauge spans the range of acoustic music from straight-ahead bluegrass to jazz-influenced new acoustic music to songwriter-oriented folk.
Kjersti Misje studied singing at Agder Music Conservatory’s Department for rhythmic music, specilising in vocal jazz traditions. In 1996 she moved to Bergen where she soon started working together with Rune Hauge. Together they represent some of Norway's finest songwriters, guitarplayers and vocalists.
Their first album, "Nation of Two" was released in September 2001, and together they have written, arranged and produced all songs for the album.
Millpond Moon have been five times on tour in the UK during 2003-2005, where they played at venues like:
