   About Mill Pond Nine
Re-inventing gospel standards, exploring the range of ragtime and hokum, and delving into southern fiddle tunes, the Mill Pond Nine brings new life to traditional oldtime music. Bringing together three unique voices to form one sound, their tight 3-part harmonies add textured layers on top of tightly interwoven instrumental melody lines. Suz Slezak's lyrical fiddle style is reminiscent of the music native to her home in Charlottesville, VA. With a background ranging from punk rock to gospel, Greg Glassman adds a dynamic presence to the music with his powerful and inventive guitar playing. Hailing from Columbia, MO, Molly Johnson has cut her teeth in the New England oldtime scene with a uniquely percussive and melodic clawhammer banjo style. The Mill Pond Nine's deep love of the music comes through in every note; even the sad songs leave the audience feeling uplifted.

Wood Spider would like to cordially invite you to 115 Franklin St, a neighborhood punk house in Allston, MA. We are lucky enough to be sharing the stage (basement floor) with O Pioneers!!!, FORT! the Band, Interrobang?! and the Brave Little Abacus! Get there at 7 to see us play! Admission is free, but bring some a few bills anyway, to help out the touring bands (OP!!! has made their trek all the way from Texas!) You have our eternal thanks, -WS

There is inconclusive evidence as to whether washboard-fueled vaudevillian ragtime/jugband blues and hillbilly swing madness improves or otherwise impacts your health. Thank you for taking a chance on it. Hopefully we will meet in person soon, where we can discuss at length these and many other fascinating topics.
