From bands such as Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots thru to Bands like Metallica, Saybia and even classical music.
Michel and Danny started playing music together at a young age and once old enough, the youngest brother Wiljan joined in. Since November 2002 Paul Kruis is the fourth member.
The band plays music varying from acoustic to swept up rock with the right dynamics. This combined with a lot of warmth and sensitivity, it makes millstone 'a band you have got to know'. (Eric Groothedde, Daily Newspaper BN De Stem, April 2004) The lyrics are sometimes very personal, sometimes world critical, but always pure and sincere. Because of this, it's hard to escape from a sense of recognition while listening.
Millstone has proven to be a great live band. With a nicely balanced band sound and teamwork on stage Millstone has been support-act for some of the best Dutch top class rock bands, like 16Down and One in a Million.
The first steps have already been made. The titelsong "Turned To Stone" appeard on the German compilation-cd Noise pollution vol.3 and gigs were done in Germany in October 2005. Millstone's first abroad adventure. Off course the band is proud of this, but it's not to be seen as a reached goal. This might just be the beginning of a very beautiful Millstone-period.
